1. Who we are

Blue Wave Learning ("we", "us") provides an online assessment platform for maritime and shipping companies to evaluate the competency of their staff. This policy explains what information we collect through the platform, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, and (for password-based accounts) a securely hashed password, provided when a company or individual is invited onto the platform.
  • Assessment data: answers submitted during an assessment attempt, timestamps, and resulting scores/scorecards.
  • Company data: company name and staff roster, provided by the Company Admin who manages that account.
  • Google account information: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture as provided by Google, and nothing else from your Google account.

3. How we use this information

We use the information above only to:

  • Operate your account and authenticate your login
  • Score assessment attempts and generate scorecards
  • Let a Company Admin manage and review their own company's staff and results
  • Respond to support requests sent to us directly

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use assessment data for advertising.

4. Data isolation between companies

Each company's staff, assignments, and results are logically isolated from every other company on the platform. A Company Admin can only ever access data belonging to their own company.

5. Data storage and security

Data is stored in a managed PostgreSQL database. Passwords are never stored in plain text — they are hashed before being saved. Correct-answer data is never sent to a candidate's browser before an assessment is submitted.

6. Data retention and deletion

We retain account and assessment data for as long as your company's account is active, or as needed to provide the service. To request deletion of your company's data or your individual account, contact us at the email below.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting your Company Admin (who manages your account) or by emailing us directly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do.
